Relative mode allows you, via the attendance or planning screen, to modify a schedule without having to create it in Setup. This concept is useful if an employee must start a few minutes earlier than usual, for example.
Create a schedule template
1.Create work periods that are used as a reference when creating windows by clicking on Add in the Working periods section in the working day. A period is defined by a clocking-in (I) and a clocking out (O).
2.Create working windows as a function of the clockings-in (I) and clockings-out (O) in working periods:
3.Click on to switch to the relative mode in order to define a time with respect to a clocking-in or a clocking-out in a working period. A dropdown menu is displayed to select the clocking-in or clocking-out to be taken as a reference (I1, O1, etc.). Then you can enter the time to be added to or deducted from the reference time. Click on
to convert it into
and vice versa. Click on
to switch back to Fixed mode to define a window.
Example:
In a daily schedule, a working period is defined that starts at 8 a.m. (E1) and finishes at midday (S1).
A clocking-in allowance is positioned relatively, as a management rule, 2 hours before the start (I1) of this period, i.e. 6h (I1 less 2h).
If a system administrator assigns this schedule to an employee in the planning, then modifies the working period for one day by deferring it from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. to midday, the clocking-in allowance will automatically start at 7:00 instead of 6:00.
